  1. Ok, I have been burning VCDs for a while now. I burned my first SVCD Photo Album last night using Nero 5.5.5.1 on Win XP. All went well until I tried to play it on my DVD player (Sony DVP-S560D which will play VCDs). It loads up and displays 1 track on the DVD display and "SVCD" is dispalyed on-screen, but the only thing I get on-screen is this and the default DVD screen. When I push play it seems like it is going to play - video goes blank, disc spins, but then it goes back to the default screen. It's like it can't get to the starting point.

Then only thing I can think of is that I have only burned and tested VCDs and not SVCDs, but I don't really think this is a problem because the DVD player recoginzes it (shows 1 track and does not display the "NO DISC" message).

Also, I can't get it to play on my PC, should it be able to? Not sure if it is a codec problem on the PC end, so this does not definitively tell me there is a problem with the format.

    Thanks

  2. yep..precisely my results as well...Nero sucks making compliant SVCD menus...bah....Ulead DVD PictureShow worked flawlessly for me. Here's my hints if you do decide to try/buy it $30.
