Having captured MPEG2 files from my DVD recorder, I now find the brightness of the played back files changes VERY slightly in 2 second intervals or so. I do stress the word faint here. When I re-author back to DVD they play perfectly on my DVD player. Also, for some reason Cineplayer (which uses the pay-for Microsoft DVD codec) plays them perfectly. I just wondered if anyone knows why this happens?

Hello,
The ONLY thing I can think of is macrovision. It exhibits the light to dark color change on some vcrs when dubbing commercial tapes. But you're saying it looks fine on the dvd player????
That IS odd my friend...
