Hello,
I'm new to this video process but essentially my goal is simple. Download .TORRENT and have them eventually play on my DVD player. I've been fairly successful thus far having gotten past many of the problems using message boards liek this one. However, after searching for soem time I haven't been able to find an answer to my final question.
I have converted about 90% of my downloads successfully. There are only 2 that I can't convert. I have a .AVI that I try to convert with TMPGEnc into .MPEG but the problem I am having is that when I select the file to be converted it only does the video portion, not the audio. SO basically what I am wondering is how do I get the audio stream? And how come for other .AVI's the audio stream worked just fine?
Thanks in advance for your time, it is greatly appreciated.
AJ Thomas

The audio codec might be different. Use virtualdub to make a wav of the audio and feed that into tmpgenc. That's easier to do than trying to fix it.
I do alot of downloading too. I'm just curious as to how much time you squeeze out of a cd? Do you make DVD or VCD and what's your biterate?
