i installed a maxtor 250gb hd into my cousin's pc in a rack enclosure because she doesn't have any room in her case for another hd. i installed the 250gb hd to a maxtor ata 133 pci controller card because the shuttle mobo doesn't support more than 200gb. i installed the maxtor big enabler drive. the 250 was formatted as a storage drive, jumper setting is slave, drive is connected to IDE 1 primary slave on the controller card. when the pc boots up the controller card shows the drive as 233gb but when windows is loaded and i check that drive it only shows 127gbs.
i also have a 250gb maxtor hd in a rack enclosure which has no problems showing 233gb on boot up and in windows. i am assuming my cousin's brand new maxtor 250gb hd is defective out of the box. i would appreciate any comments or help regarding this problem. Thanks in advance.![]()

never mind i figured it out.....stupid thing on maxtor blaster 3 had to go to advance setup instead of easy installation which is why the drive could be read at 127gb. all is good now with the drive reading at the 233gb.

Yeah, but Maxtor still owes us 17GB, I figure. What if we just paid them 93.2¢ on the dollar?

It probably comes out to 25x,xxx,xxx bytes.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
