    So the Firmware is the code that tells the DVD Writer what to do. I hear you can flash the dvd player or something like that and make it burn different. And also, I have been told you can OVERBURN with this dvd writer. What is Overburning and how do I do it with the 108?

    I would go to www.cdfreaks.com and look in the Pioneer section and read a little and you will see some explanations there about firmware,etc.
