  1. I just saw some Panasonic E55 DVD recorders on sale for $99 after rebate at BJ's (a warehouse club in the Northeast USA). Silver model only.

They also had a stack of Lite-On 5005 All-Write units for only $159.

  2. Hmmm, I have even a better deal. Hudson's Bay stores (in Canada) has the Panasonic E55 on sale this week (ends Sunday ) for only $349, $100 off the regular $449 price that everyone else is selling them for. (Canadian currency is about 1.23x US)

Does ya'll t'ink us dumb Canuk's are gettin' takin' 'vantage of? Maybe d'ats where dez ship all d'em non-workin' gween recorders to? What d'ya tink, eh?

  3. That's how we feel about prescription drugs down here... it all balances out in the end. The low prices on some consumer items in the US has to do with supply and demand. 300 million people, an overwhelming selection of competitive products, etc. Panasonic is about to release their new models, and they probably have too many E55's on hand (over-estimated the market). That's why they are winding up in the warehouse clubs at a huge discount... once the new improved units arrive, last year's model will be tough to sell.
