See, I don't get that. Everytime I would tell someone I was going to Mexico, the first thing: "Don't drink the water." Never bothered me.

Then you've got a hell of a strong digestive system.

When we went to Egypt we were very careful not to drink tap water or eat fresh fruit, vegetables or fruit. We used bottled water for brushing, and even to rinse the brush afterwards. But all 4 of us still got Tut's Trots :P

The reason: showering. We all take daily showers and no matter how careful you are you can't help getting some water in your mouth while showering your face. You have to breathe and you automatically open your mouth.

The solution: use a washcloth for your face and head and shower everywhere else And just in case, bring enough Cipro and Pepto-Bismol tablets for everyone going on the trip. That stuff knocked it out for good in about 5 hours

Ive never gotten sick(knock on wood) in south america,central amer. and se asia. PB has been around for over 100 years and still is one of the best treatments for enteritis. A Cipro bomb helps get things started.

My recommendation is to avoid disgusting thirld world countries inb the first place. If I can't drink the water there, I don't go. Try Key West or Puerto Rico instead.

another big thing people dont think about.. freshly washed glasses or dishes water.. and the number one thing people dont think of.. ???? Ice in drinks.. :P duh.. you wouldnt believe how many of my co-workers are all about "dont drink the water" only to have a pop with ice.. stupid asses.. i never say a word.. i just let them at it...

When I got to SE Asia I didnt even think about ice for almost a week. I never got sick ,so I just said screw it.
