I have a recently purchased Toshiba RD-XS32 DVD/HDD recorder that I'm quite happy with. My old DVD player won't play discs made on the new recorder. Any recommendations for an inexpensive DVD player that will reliabably play the DVD-R discs recorded on the RD-XS32?
I've tried the Toshiba SD-3960 but that wouldn't play them.

Also, if it makes any difference, I've been using TDK DVD-R 4X discs for recording.

No I didn't. I'm recording to DVD-R discs as opposed to DVD-RW. Is there a finalization procedure for the -R discs? I didn't see that in the manual.

My eyes must be going on me. I read both your original posts, and somehow saw + instead of -. For - media, I'm not sure. My recorder is +, and +R must be finalized. +RW does not.
