    I was wondering if any one knew how to add sub-titles to a movie. I have some sub files that are .ssa and .srt but I do not know what these exactly are or where to add the files ( in VIDEO_TS?). Any help would be appreciated it.

    ffmpegX will use .srt files; I'm not sure about .ssa. See Major's ffmpegX page at http://homepage.mac.com/major4 and read the online manual. Burning subtitles is probably covered in ffmpegX's "Filters" tab. There's also the ffmpegX forum on this site.
