  1. i captured something with intervideo dvr with their Better capture setting without realising that they had the wierd 320x576 dimensions

    i then made an avi of this file with virtual dub and the result was a tall and thin rectangualr screen

    is there tool to reencode it to a 4:3 screen? for future conversion does virtualdub allow u to specify the dimensions of the video for the out put?

    Use the resize filter. But honestly, try to find a better res than 320*576! (Like 352*576 that is a valid DVD resolution.) Also keep in mind that there's no quality gain in resizing up!
