  1. Anyone know of a hack to get my samsung HTDB120e play vcd's.I know its possible as all machines sold in countries other than the UK can play them(germany,middle east) but for some reason the UK spec doesnt play vcd.So please Id be made up if I could get it to play anything other than DVD's.

  2. I've bought this player in Sweden but mine cant play vcd either. According to the swedish samsung site (www.samsung.se) it can but that is wrong! The samsung site is really bad, some of the specifications are false.

At samsung.co.uk theres no mention of vcd but on samsung.de and samsung.me,they both say that it can play vcd.Furthermore when I put a svcd in and look at the info,it will show its an svcd,number of audio channels and subtitles available but wont play it.This leads me to believe that it will play either vcd or svcd with a hack.

  4. I tested the same thing with my player and it works. I had no idea that the info button was activated during the "invalid disc" screen
    Anyway this is nice... My hope for a hack just jumped one level

  5. Here is official modification to support VCD and SVCD by Samsung HT-DB120. I've check it and it works well.
