hi all,
i'm looking for a software to play movies on a simulated video in device - i know that this sounds strange
what i want to do is, to play a video file via webcam-chat software. all of these programms only support a video-in-device as source, like a webcam or a tvcard. so i now need a program, which simulates such an device, and give me the ability to play a moviefile via this device.
anybody an idea how or where i could get such a program?
thanks,
warlock

Not wanting to know why you'd want to do this
, I think a regular capture card would do, feeding the card with your video?

i don't want use use additional hardware.
i just want to play a .avi-file into this simulated device.
optionally i could burn each .avi as svcd, put this in my standalone-player and connect this to my tv-in-card.. but this suxx -
Ah - I missed the crucial word video file. But your second option is what I suggested, but that's obviously not what you wanted. Never seen such an application, but then, I can't see why it wouldn't be possible... - which makes me believe it might exist! I guess you've Googeled around?
