    Like we dont already have HD-DVD Vs Blue Ray, now VMD. This just creates more confusion for consumers.

    Apparantly, VMD will use the red laser as opposed to the blue laser used by Blue Ray and HD-DVD.

  4. 20GB? That is barley more then 2x of a normal DVD. How exactly is this suppose to hold HD video?

    Double sided, double layer, and it beats it by less than 2 gig. Speaking of these, why have no double/doubles hit shelves? I'd love 18 gigs on a disk!

    Probably costs a lot to make - any layer is bad and they have to toss the whole thing.

    The double-sided single-layer DVD-R media never got below about $3.50. Too much, considering you can burn two SS SL for 60 to 80 cents total.
