  1. Hey i have studio 9 and am wondering are the any other better(but not too expensive) video editing software. Some of the menus and special affects in studio seem to basic ie lots of simple squares bubbles etc etc. Has anyone ever used Sony Vegas software. What do you all reccommend?

Sony Vegas includes several products. Which one are you recommending? Are you able to share what it does better?

Your thoughts would be appreciated. I just bought Studio 9, but would like something a little better.

  5. If you already use Studio 9, then the obvious choice would be to upgrade to Liquid 6. I use it and it's a superb NLE.

I've been using Adobe Premiere when I want to do a lot of customized stuff, and Ulead VideoStudio 7 for the quick and easy stuff. Both give me excellent results.

You might want to check out some of the free software before you buy anything. Windows Movie Maker 2 is good for several applications, only exports in wmv (you can then use Stoik Video Converter to get it to avi and then to dvd). You could also try wax. There are many free linux video editing programs too- you can do a linux install without doing anything to your windows install with topologilinux:

A couple linux programs are lve, LiVES, and Cinelerra.
BTW, did the Studio 9 come bundled with a capture device? If so, I may be able to give you some free programs that work better for capturing.
