New trail for Regina's rollerblading gorilla
    -----------------------------------------------
A teenager who was convicted of in-line skating down a Regina, Canada street dressed as a gorilla will have his case tried again.

This week, Queen's Bench Justice Fred Kovach quashed the 17-year-old's conviction after ruling he didn't get a fair trial in traffic safety court.

Kovach says the teen was deprived of the opportunity to call evidence in support of his defence.

In an earlier trial he was fined $100 for performing an activity on a public highway likely to distract, startle or interfere with users of a highway.

A date for the new trial has not yet been set.

    8) I suppose that's a good thing. Not so good for the guy in the gorilla suit though

I used to work at a bookstore when I was in college. They had just redesigned and rebuilt. They had a motorized mannequin that ran in place. Because it was visible from the street we weren't supposed to have it. We paid a fine every day for months before we finally got approval. Funny when you think about the city putting money before safety. We never had to take it down, just so long as we paid the fines.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
