I am quite interested in this new format coming soon but had some questions:

    1. HD-DVD burners for PC's? Any news on where these are at, and how much they will be? Link?
    2. Home HD-DVD players - I hear these are about 1 year out? Is that right?
    3. How will HD-DVD affect the DVD-Audio format that hasn't really taken off? Is there a higher quality audio spec with HD-DVD over DVD and DVD-Audio?
    4. When will HD-DVD titles actually start coming out?
    5. What are people who have a vast DVD collection or their home movies on DVD going to do? Will they be forced to buy the titles again if they want the higher quality or will they be able to "convert" their existing collection? By this I mean can't you do a resize of from 720x480 up to the HD spec using a bi-cubic, nearest neighbor or Lancos resize? or would quality be terrible?

    thx.

    1. you can buy blu-ray burners now , 2500$
    2. who knows , maybe sooner
    3. no - not any better
    4. already are out - in asia mostly
    5. you could resize , you can do that right now with dvd players that resize to HD (like the samsung 931/93x models) , but true hd will be better ... if you want it , you will have to buy new disks , which will be very expensive at first... but will come down quckly in price im sure ...
the vast majority of poeple dont even have hdtv in their homes, so dont expect a flood of new products right away ..

Lancos3/4 is much better quality for resize
