[I didn't know where to put this thread since it's video-related so it doesn't belong in the Computer section. Please feel free to move this!]

Does anyone know of any good (free) music video creators? I use Windows 2000 so that Movie Maker on Windows XP won't work. I want to mix and match some favorite scenes in movies with my favorite songs so there is a nice atmosphere and I can watch it over and over again. I'm not looking for any of those cool graphics effects, the main thing I want is so that each clip can fade into each other so they look smooth. Also, if it can place a song title, artist name, etc. at the beginning of the music video, that would be great too. And hopefully, programs that can accept VOBs, M2V, AVI, MPEG-2/1 as video input and MP3 for audio input?

Any decent All-in-one / Editing package can do what you want.

    Basic Video Editors

    Advanced Video Editors
    If in doubt, Google it.

But is there one that is solely for making music videos? I would want one of those wizards that does the work for you for my first time.

Not AFAIK - the world doesn't revolve around music videos, last time I checked

Any one of those tools can do a music video, a christening, a workplace instructional video ..... you name it - it is just a video stream and an audio stream after all

I've only tried a couple of the All-in-one type softwares that would be appropriate for this, but most of them will more than likely have a wizard interface.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Give Ulead Video Studio 8 a try, it's fairly simple to use and produces good results. Free unrestricted 30 day trial too...

Without having tried any of these, there are some automated tools for this, wher you add a bunch of movies together with audio, and the app will mix and pick to create a video matching the music:
    Roxio VideoWave
    ArKaos VJ
I'm sure there are more out there... Google!

I think I have Vegas Video but since it's so difficult, I didn't use it. Would that work? Is it good for music videos?

    Edit:
I do have it, version 4. And yes, it is very complicated. The main thing is that none of my videos (in AVI format) will show! The preview window is just a black screen. In the timeline, at the time when I drag the AVI into that timeline, the individual frames would show and when I scrolled, they all turned to black. And I am using the FFDShow codec...
