Hi, I would like to buy a new DVD player. I know that many times we pay more just for brand names, but I know your experience can help me find a decent dvd player that is cheap.
Could you suggest a cheap DVD player that is Region Free os that at least can be hacked to be region free? This player should also play DVD-Rs properly.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks

Not sure about anyone else, but I can totally recommend the Yamada 6100 DVX player. This player has been able to play absolutely EVERYTHING I've thrown at it, from VCD, SVCD, KVCD, CVD, MVCD, DVD, KDVD on both
DVD-R and DVD-R as well as +/-RW DVD and CD discs. Not only that it can play DivX and Xvid movies. You don't even have to author the mpeg files you create, just burn 'em straight to disc as they are! And if new Divx or XVid formats are released, simply go to the manufacturers website and download the latest firmware upgrade, put it on a CD and let the player read it. The player is also region free, without the need for a hack!
This player is also sold between £50 - £90 (depending where you look!)

I don't think this player is easily found in the US market. I did some searches and couldn't find anywhere in the US selling it.
