I have a stick of Samaung 256MB DDR 400 and a Stick of Inlineon 256MB DDR 400 in daul channel mode in my motherboard and it'd been giving me crashes of programs and Memory Read Errors since I got it 2 months ago.
Do you think this could be because the RAM not Idendical sticks ?
If not what do you think it could be ?

Yup
I never mix brands when it comes to memory. That happened to me a lot when I mixed kingston with other brands. Blue screen of death or the system would not boot. Both brands worked just fine seperate. -
Modules must be matched at the factory if they are to be guaranteed to work dual-channel. You might get away with mixing two modules from the same company, but it is less likely to work. Mixing two different ones is asking for trouble.

well what happened is I bought this computer 2 months ago with no OS installed when I brought it home and tried to install the OS it wouldn't install and then I ran MEMTEST86 and it showed lots of errors.
so I took it back and the guy at the shop tried 2 more sticks after he found the bad one and none of them where good either so he partner gave me his stick from his computer. it was the brand Inlineon and the other stick I got with my new computer was Samsung
Programs were crashing not bad just giving me Memerory Could Not Be Read Errors, I thought it was a software broblem from installing alot of software but I just reformatted my computer and it's happening still.
Do you still think this is from the RAM ?
Thanks for your help. -
try only one memory stick and see what happens, let it run for 24 hours. If that works then try the other stick and let it run. If they both work just fine then they're not compatible

I ran Memtest98 with the ram the way it was and I got the errors and it gave me a Error message Error at 507.5 MB
so I took out 1 stick and ran the test no errors so I switch the Ram and ran the test, no Errors so I switch both Ram sticks and slots and ran test and no errors, so I put them back the way it was when it gave me the error and ran the test and no Errors again.
What do think it's a not compatible error ?
Thanks for your info ! -
There's more to memory than just type and size. If I were you, I'd look into selling what the two I have and buying a matched set. That is IF you really need / want to run in dual channel mode. If single channel mode is fine, you should be able to switch without any errors since both chips check out.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
cool so you think it's the mitched match ram ?
I'm taking my computer back Tuesday and getting matching Ram Sticks I already talked to the owner of the store and he agreed with me.
I just hope the RAM is what the trouble is. -
If they both check out individually, I'd say it's just the mismatch causing a problem.

You might also want to check your MB manual to see if the memory needs to go into specific sockets for the memory module configuration you are using. Especially with dual channel. But I would definitely replace the mis-matched memory.
