Hi guys. I noticed that someone posted something about this cheap player (Akura ADV142S) a while back, and it led to quite a list of responses. For the price it is indeed an excellent player, and so far playbackwise I have been extremely happy with it. However, just a couple of days in the remote control stopped working. I did all the usuals : changed batteries, removed all obstacles etc etc, but still nothing. When I called Akura they were very helpful indeed and sent a free replacement remote within a few days. However, the new remote didn't work either, so I now presume that there is a problem with communication between the player and remote. Would anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem? I don't think Somerfield/Kwik Save stock these any more, and their alternatives at the same price or a little bit more expensive just don't match up - it is a great player! Thanks.
