    Hello,

You could also check out the kvcd template. It is a lower bitrate than can squeeze more video on the same space. It most likely will drop the visual quality though. And it may not be 100% compatible with all standalone dvd players (dvd-roms should have no problems playing them).

  4. cutting the credits off may save some space

use the source material and encode with the right bit rate to fit on 1 vcd

or split in half and make 2 svcds which will be of far better quality than a low bit rate vcd

    Demultiplex mpeg1 with Womble mpeg-vcr.
Now you have a .mpv (video) and .mpa (audio).
Re-encode .mpa audio with HeadAc3he to .mp2 bitrate 64 cbr.
    Multiplex back .mpv/.mp2 with Womble.

You might be lucky to get away with an overburn of an 80min disk. A 90min disk will do the trick and play in all DVD players I have personally tested.

Can you get it down to say 82 or 83 minutes by deleting anything prior or post the actual video. If so then you should be able to get it on a 80min disk.
