    Hello,

    http://www.detnews.com/2004/techcolumns/0410/28/-317857.htm

Yep, a metropolitan newspaper is showing people how to copy dvds!!!

    About time!

I don't think it mentions videohelp but it's a step in the right direction.

  2. It is about time. I am amazed that so few people know that DVDs can be copied.

    Hello,

Yep, maybe this is the time it starts to spread. Since single layer discs are so cheap there's no reason for people not to dive in.

    Hello,

    Yep:

One more bonus: Some DVD copying programs require you to go on your own to track down small pieces of decryption software so that you're able to rip the movies (all movies are encrypted in an effort to prevent the wholesale copying and sharing or selling of films). DVD Shrink includes its own decryption module, saving you the hassle.

The government is not backing down from allowing personal back-ups. But it's not long before they will be cracking down and saying that companies cannot keep people from making personal back-ups. I'm sure if people bring that up, then the laws of copyrights can be used against the companies. Just very few people are pushing back. Only the software companies making the DVD copying products seem to be fighting. But they have their business at risk, so it's understandable. The MPAA and the RIAA do not have the right and shouldn't have the ability to discriminate media or dictate which media can be allowed for personal back-ups, but they are sure trying. You have the right to make photo copies, hand written copies, VHS copies, Audio Cassette copies, etc. So why the huge schtick about digital copies. It's a load of bull.
