Hi there. I'm really getting tired of this stuff.
I have LG-4081B DVD writer and burn usually DVD-R at 4x speed (B's recorder Gold or Ulead Movie Factory).
My Samsung E338J plyer is having trouble often to play promptly the disc.
Usually it starts showing mozaik or skipping in the end of the movie.
I know first thing to do is check the media but I have done it (CMC-Mr.Data, Ridata - Ritek, Mitsubishi) and burnt to under 3.5GB or at x2 speed - still the same problem.
I also check the burn using Nero CD speed's Surface Scan - I had few disks that were unreadable in the end, but even the one that are 100% OK also skip.
I also found that a disk that I confirmed playing OK 2-3 months ago now skips.
I've been suspecting the Samsung player for the compability problem but haven't had chance to confirm the recorded disks in other plyers.
Anybody, can you please share your experience with Samsung DVD players or give me some advise?
    Thanks!

  2. Samsung equipment is very problem prone. I wouldn't ever own anything they make myself.

Yeah, I always say this to myself but somehow the features they offer for the price mislead me again.
I bought this (my first DVD) player in a rush as I needed to output my own instructional video from DVD to 2 VHS decks for rapid copy.
It happend that my local shop had this and it had 2xAV outputs so it did the job perfectly.
My problems started when using it for everyday DVD watching - it sucks.

I have very bad experience with Samsung worldwide VHS deck too - very poor. I barely have used it when it start shaking image. Later it started making noise due to poor head quality I guess - cleaning doesn't help.
Swear NO MORE samsung in my gadget world

  4. My sister has one of the Samsung home theater in a box things, and it works great. It's a 5 disc changer and as far as I know she hasnt had any problems with it. I've backed up a few of her movies for her (she has a little chihuahua that eats stuff) and they've played great.

  5. I have two Samsung five disc players and both play any DVD+/-RW I throw at them. Maybe try using DVDshrink to make a backup and burn with either RecordNow or Nero (that's what I do).

I know I have to experiment more with media and recording apps.
Actually I burnt again same movie this time on MCC (mitsubishi) DVD+R 4x media made in Singapore.
It ran without skips on the player.
So it might be very complex reasons - writer, media and may be this Samsung model is a bit more picky on the first two factors. Hmm.. I still don't like that... Have to find other players to check the skipping media.
