  1. I'm trying to convert some of my own DVDs to VCD. Only problem is, I made these newer ones using TMPGEncDVDAuthor, and now I have a separate IFO file for each chapter. And I CANNOT find a program that will convert multiple IFO files to one VCD. They all want me to select the "largest" IFO file... which means 75% or more of my DVD doesn't get converted.
I've tried using the VOB files and gotten the DVD out of order and worse.
FYI... I've used TMPGEnc, DVDx, SuperDVDRipper, and DVD2SVCD. Nothing works. Frustration is now extemely high.
And on a side note, is there a better way to author a DVD using DVDAuthor so only one main IFO file is created?

  2. OK... I did some tweaking with DVDx and was able to input all my VOB files, in order, and convert them to a file that doesn't exceed a 74-min CD. It's running right now and will (hopefully) give me a satisfactory final product.
I'm still curious as to why DVDAuthor renders separate IFO files, rather than one large one and a tiny one (for the menu) like, say, Pinnacle does. Is there a better way to create a DVD in DVDAuthor other than creating a new title for each chapter?

If you only want one big IFO (VTS_01_0.IFO) and one small IFO (VIDEO_TS.IFO), you need to put all your clips in the same track. By default, each clip will signify a new chapter, but you can modify this if neccessary using the Chapter Edit Cut section.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. Yes, but then the menu doesn't display all clips... only the first one.
BTW, DVDx is giving me problems again... It won't let me make a VCD longer than 45 minutes... I think I have my input settings wrong. Is there a program to handle this quicker/better?

If you configure it to show a track menu, then you'll get a thumbnail or link to each and every chapter.
    If in doubt, Google it.
