Alright, I doubt it, it looks more like some sort of snap-in piece. But I haven't got a clue where it goes. My new VCR came in the mail today, but this piece was rattling inside. That didn't sound good, so I opened it up to see what the deal was.

I'm in the process of calling people I know and opening my own equipment to compare. My JVC tech isn't available until tomorrow, and I may not be able to see him until next week. Was hoping to find the answer before then.

Anyway, here are images. Any ideas?
Any other JVC HRS-7965EK owners out there that can open and compare??

Look for a pin near the head drum on the left,it goes on that and spins over the head, the reason it fell out it cause someone turned the vcr upside down.

Would this be "left" on the images (which are upside down) or "left" when I'm facing the VCR (tape insertion in front of me, on the bottom) ??

    Thank you!!!!!!!!

That did it. I saw something like this on the 3800s I have, but it was on barely the same. The 7900 units has nothing at all like this, and my 9800 is busy so I cannot check it for quite a few hours.

Again, thanks for the confirmation. Now all I need is the power converter. Radio Shack, here I come.

It's odd that it just fell off like that. It seems pretty secure when attached properly.

Yes, it was shipped upside down. But a friend shipped it for me (the stores all refuse to ship to USA). In his defense, there is NOTHING on the box that says "this side up". My NTSC units ALL have this on the box, but not the PAL ones.
