  1. sounds like i got a lot question, and all these questions to me are too big. so i got to ask one by one.

um, for an audio dvd, am i able to put the words in the song onto the dvd? i mean like when playing the sng, have all the words on there so can folow it and sing. not necessary to have the words highlighted at the place of singing.

i was once thinking changing back ground would be good. but then jsut notice. it is not enough space.

i use audio dvd creator to create audio dvds. now is it possible to make it happen? seems it is pretty important!

    thanks a lot!

if you make a normal video dvd -- it would be a piece of cake to do it

    Hi tintytinyme,

Here's how I'd do it using freeware...

    1. Create basic white text on a black background (to the correct resolution) in something like MS Paint and save as a bitmap for each group of words in the song. The reason for white text on black means (especially the black background) that you can have a very low bitrate for the video when encoding to MPEG2, leaving loads of room for loads of songs in AC3.

    2. Use something like Slide Show Movie Maker (SSMM) to combine the words with your music (audio must be in WAV - but we'll address that).

Including the WAV will allow you to get the timing right for the words. I'm guessing, once you've got the timings for the words, you can remove the audio.

Export pictures only (with right timings) to AVI.

    3. Encode the AVI to DVD compliant MPEG2 - there's a number of good encoders around - to get your video in either video.m2v or video.mpg

    4. Use video.m2v/mpg and audio.ac3 in an authoring tool like TMPGEnc DVD Author (TDA).

    5. Burn (TDA will do this too) and enjoy...

This is on a "per track" basis - there's no reason why you couldn't do more than one track in SSMM, and then set chapter points in TDA for each song. Remember to have a second or two of just black between songs.

If you've got loads of songs, just do as many as you can in SSMM and then repeat the process so you'll have a whole load of video.m2v/mpg and audio.ac3 files that you can then load one after the other in TDA.

Of course, there may well be easier ways or better / different tools. But I hope, at least, that it gives you a rough idea...

    Good luck...

What's wrong with a regular subtitles track, that you can switch on and off?

No, he's making a DVD with audio on. It's still DVD Video. No reason why subtitles wouldn't work !?!

    sure
    1. you have to convert your WAV into MP2 (only possible in PAL land) or AC3 -> the file size then should be about ~20%
    2. you can also play with the bitrate of your MV2 - for static pictures you can check out half size on lowest possible bitrates -> this should save you up to ~50% of disc space

    together 130% more space! (I´m only jokin´)
