My sony CCD-FX310 just died last night. It plays for a bit if your lucky then starts fast forwarding or grind the gears or the display freaks out and there is no way to turn it off unless you unplug the power or remove the battery.
I either need advice how to repair it or need to buy a used one from soemone. I've already taken it completely apart and cleaned it but did not disconnect any of the 20 or so ribbon cables from the circuit boards and such.
Anyone heard of camcorder acting like that? Is it a lose connection or a dying chip or sensor?

Probably the caps dried. I read there are dozens of them you'd have to change.
