Hello everyone,
I have searched the forum but have been unable to find a solution to my problem.
First I will describe the way I create my DVDs:
I Decrypt the DVD using IFO mode selecting the main movie files along with the VTS_01_0.VOB file to retain the menus. I then use DVDFab 0.17.1 to create the video manager files "VIDEO_TS.IFO". I use DVD Shrink to shrink the files to fit on a single layer DVD. This method usually works about 90% of the time and I end up with a working DVD that will start playing the main movie when inserted but the menus are available if needed. (I like to use the menus for scene selection).
The problem is that, as I stated above, this method doesn't always work and for some reason the menus are not always available even though the VTS_01_0.VOB file is included with the main movie files. I am not sure if I need to edit the IFO files to make the menus work or what I need to do.
If someone could please explain why the method I described above doesn't always work and could possibly come up with a solution I would greatly appreciate itMy main goal is to end up with a DVD that has the bare minimum amount of files that will produce a DVD that has the main movie with working menus. Thanks
JRHOLT

just blank the unwanted VTS with titlesetblanker
far simpler than ripping in IFO mode with DVDDecrypter -
Thanks Baldrick
MackemX,
Thank you for the reply. So you mean that I should rip the entire DVD and then blank the titlesets that I do not want? -
I think so ::, I don't use titlesetblanker so I don't know how it works when saving. I just know it blanks complete VTS in a few simple clicks
there are other blanking methods and maybe someone else who does this will tell you
there was a method with DVDShrink were you kept the main menu's etc. Do a search through noki's posts -

- Rip everything in file mode.
- Run titlesetblanker, blank out every titleset except for the movie titleset. DO NOT blank out any titlesetmenus (it's likely that that would break things if one of them had buttons), but you can usually blank the VMG menu (topmost in titlesetblanker). This takes about 10s! (titlesetblanker is a great little tool!).
- Check that the result plays as you like it, then use shrink.
NOTE: The DVD will NOT jump straight to the movie. Rather, it'll run normally, skipping stuff you've blanked out (previews, FBI etc), then into the first menu (usually the main menu). It's not that easy to make it jump to the main movie and have that work in all cases, but I'm working on a guide.

Thanks for the replies MackemX and Jeanl,
I will give that a try and see how it worksI finally found the original post that I saw a long time ago that gave me the idea of making DVDs the way I described and at the end of it (which was posted after I first saw it) they suggested using DVDstripper. I am going to give that a try as well. I will keep you posted and let you know what the results are using both methods.
Here is a link to that post I spoke of:

Thanks again for your help -
that's the post I was thinking of
DVDStripper will still rip all the DVD so if you are going to rip the whole DVD and just keep the movie I would use titlesetblanker and dvddecrypter instead
you could also use DVDShrink and just blank all the crap using a black image. It uses around 30mb-35mb for 1GB last time I played with Shrink
in fact, do that with Shrink but oversize the DVD to fit 4.35Gb for the movie + movie menus only. This leaves 0.02 GB for the bits you don't want. Obviously DVDShrink won't shrink them to that much but it will rip quicker due to it not ripping the bits you blank. Grab titlesetblanker and then blank the unwanted VTS to get rid of those 30mb VTS etc
