Seems as though Nero locks up everytime I try to copy a dvd created on my Panasonic Standalone Recorder the dvd is in r- format..Nero has been updated to the newest version..Only way it will copy is to use only the burner to read and write..my dvd reader is a gerneric brand..Thank you
PS:This is Home video's that has been transfered from vhs tapes

That wouldn't need decryption or anything, so have you tried simply dropping the disk in your DVD-ROM, copying all the files to a directory on your DH, and then just burn a DVD-VIDEO project within Nero?

I use smartripper to rip standalone discs. Rip all the files into a VIDEO_TS file, and burn. Just that simple.

It sounds like your generic DVD-ROM just doesn't like those discs. No worries, just use the burner to read and write. You already have your solution.

What would be a good reader to read the dvd's that the stand alone recorder makes
