  6. Well, some Verbatim -Rs are CMC (bad) or MCC (good) or TY (great) you would be better off going to the source and getting the discs without the Verbatim markup. TY costs about half as much and is the same as the best Verbatim has to offer. No point in paying top dollar when you might get stuck with CMC.
    Still a few bugs in the system...

    If you look here:

    http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=78112&highlight=benq

    you will see that most scans for Sony (which is what your Benq probably is) which are burned on NEC and Plextor burns are very good.

    A lot depends on your burner.

    I'm guessing

    TAIYOYUDEN, YUDEN, TYG01, TYG02 = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)(+R)

    MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)(-RW)(+R)(+RW)

    Correct? and so if my verbatim discs on the outside says Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation on the side they are good? yes? no?

    No.
    Verbatim is part of MCC, that will be on all labels.

    You need to actually look at the media code using one of the software programs, such as CDSpeed, and a DVD burner. Otherwise you cannot tell.
