Hi,
This is proabably a really dumb question but I'm stumped. When I insert a video file (VTS_01_1 vob file made in DVD shirnk) into Vegas 4.0 it only seems to insert 25secs of the video instead of the full hour and a half.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Some or most editing tools can't handle authored vob files that well, try demultiplex the vob to a mpg video and a mpa,ac3,wav files. Or convert it to a mpg. Guide: https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=638&howtoselect=3;29#638

I had some success with the demultiplex settings in DVD decrypter but for some reason Vegas doesn't let me insert the first VTS file but the other two are fine. Any ideas?
Thanks

1. vegas will only take vob or program streams - not elementary streams (you can multiplex a elementary stream in tmpgenc with no audio for vegas.
2. vegas will not (currently) import ac3 files - convert to wave .
3. some mpeg vob files are made up of smaller mpg files - which if vegas sees a end segment , will only import up to that segment .
4. mpeg isnt the easiest thing to edit in vegas - though it can do it ok .. (but will re-render) ..
5. converting the mpeg files to huffyuv or dv first in virtual dubmod or frame serving the vobs into vegas works fine .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
