  1. When I try to make backups of my DVD (using DVDencrypter, DVDschrink and then Nero 6 or InstantCD/DVD 7 or 8), the backup process goes well, as it tells me that the DVD is written correctly.
Strangely I can only see the DVD in my PC, but not in my Homeplayer (Saivod or Bestbuy).

I am using a portable Notebook of ACER Travelmate 291Lmi seris with a dualDVD burner (1X for -R and 2,4X for +RW)
The media I use is BULKPAQ 8X.
I even make them the size of 4,2GB to be sure it isnīt writing on the last tracks.
Strange also that the RW (Philips) does work on the homeplayer.

Could it be the type of Media????? Because using them in my PC with my Pioneer 106 burner I donīt have any problem.

Any help is welcome. i just hope the Notebook isnīt broken!.

    Thx,

    Johny

P.S.: I hope I posted it in the right section

If the RW worked and the bulkpaq didn't then I would conclude that it's a media issue. Have you tried the disks in another player? Either way you need to find some disks that your player will accept.

  3. I am also believing strongly that it is the Media.
But can it be possible that a 1X speed bruner doesnīt burn/uses discs with 8X capacity?
I mean, I believe that if I burn normal data (movies made with my DV cámara) to the DVD-R it does work. Also it works on the pC, but not the player.
I just made a test, and burned it using my Normal PC, and guess what? It works......

it could be your dvd player. i had a problem with mine recently so i bought another. bought cheap dvd-r's and they would not play on my new player, but on my apex they played fine.

it is either your dvd player or media

  9. If you get a burner that does booktype management you can set it to DVd-ROM and that gives it maximum compatability.

  10. I had the exactly the same problem. The DVDR plays on my computer without any problem but cannot play with my DVD player. I found out that my DVD player expect the DVDR with both AUDIO-TS and VIDEO_TS present. The copy that could not be played has only VIDEO_TS folder. Once I included the AUDIO_TS, it played without any problem. Weird
