  1. My friend has a PVR from Rogers Cable for his digital cable. Anyone know if it's prossible to grab stuff he records to his PC? Thanks!

    Hello,

    You should be able to just hook up the audio/video cables to the input jacks on the capture card.

  3. I'm not talking about capturing from it - since it's a PVR, it already has a digital file stored on it somewhere, I'm talking about getting that file to the PC...

    Ohh.. That's different, sorry. I've heard about people hacking tivos to do a direct digital dump. Why don't you do a net search in that area??

    Also, if it involves opening up the case (a distinct possibility) it will void the warranty FYI.

    Giving some thought to getting one myself but reading up on it first:
    I've seen this question asked many times on various forums. The standard answer up till now is that all input and output ports for the Scientific Atlanta 8000sa are currently disabled subject to a possible future firmware upgrade.
    What model does your friend have?
