Hello
If anyone has experience with DVD MovieFactory 2, everytime I import mpeg2 to burn to DVD it re-encodes the whole file, however there is an option - do not encode compliant video files-, so I wonder when to check this option so files will not be encoded again!!! and which files are compliant
I already import mpeg2 files but still being encoded.
thank you

I cant se no reason for not having it checked - why on earth would you want your already compliant sources reencoded?
For what is compliant, see What is -> DVD. Or try a "author only" application like TMPGEnc DVD Author to author your DVDs.

but this is my question !!! must mpeg2 be encoded again before burnded to dvd ? i click on Ouput and it says "converting videos" then i wait for hours for the conversion and then it says "burning..." and my dvd is completed . Is this the normal process ?

Depends on what your source is. There's more to a DVD source than its being mpeg2, but I take your word for that your sources are indeed DVD compliant. Thing is, UMF might have another opinion on what's compliant than you do...
Do yourself a favor, and use a "author only" application to author, not some editor/encoder/author combo.
