  1. Hi,
    I am pretty new here.

Most of the DVDs I backup take 6GB to 8GB of space.
I have been using DVD SHrink to backup the files to a single DVD-R disc.
I was wondering if there is an easy way to backup a DVD movie (with no compression and by keeping all extras) to 2 DVD-R.

For instance, how do I copy the main movie and the menus on one disc and the extras (making of, deleted scenes, bonus etc...) to another disc ?

Finally, my last question is: how do I completely remove extras in DVD Shrink? I mean, I am able to compress and therefore to reduce the size of the extras but I have never been able to completely get rid of them.
If I replace the sequence by a still image, the file still take a lot of space (sometimes up to 300MB).

    Thanks!

Also titlesetblanker, vobblanker and pgcedit to remove unwanted material.
Titlesetblanker is the easiest to use, but the least flexible it blanks whole titlesets (VTS) or whole menus (including the VMG).
vobblanker would be for more complicated cases (when you want to blank only parts of a titleset/menu).

  4. DVDFab splits the disc into 2. The main movie will be on one and the rest on another. This is the easiest software to use.

  6. dvdfab (last I tried it, like 6 months ago) has a flaw though - if your movies has multiple PGC's in a title, it fails badly. Also, if you want to use the menu to make settings as you watch the movie, like say to listen to director's commentary, or switch to another languagae, or have subtitles turned on, you're out of luck when you switch to the second disk.

DVDRemake Pro can be used to (AMONG MANY OTHER THINGS) split any kind of DVD into 2 discs, with menus on both. Works sort of like DVDStripper, except less bugs, handles a lot more discs, and doesn't rest on top of IFOEdit, which is buggy in itself, as the developer stopped working on it.

I've split maybe 60 DVD's with DVDRemake, no coasters. Some people do get coasters if they try some of the more advanced/complicated things, but splitting has worked for me consistently.

IMO, the best re-authoring tool out there.
