You could either try hitting F4 or there is usually a full screen option for the game. If there is a full screen option, just deselect it.

This belongs in the Off Topic forum .....

If it's windows xp, just press alt+enter.
When I used windows 98 (and I think me also), I could right click on the file and click on properties. on one of the tabs, there was an option to start in a window.
hope this helps.

Hello,
Just curious but why? If your trying to get a screen shot of the game most newer games have a built in screen shot function. Just look it up in the manual - usually one of the high function keys like f7 or f8. Good luck.Originally Posted by skip2mylou

Some games won't run in a window, they must be full screen...but that depends on the game.

well i have spider-man: the movie
and i burned it off my friend. um i tried hitting F4, F7, F8 and Alt+Enter but nothing is happening. Um, is there anything else perhaps that might work??
P.S. i would like to extend my gratitude to all who have contributed to this post.
thanx

Spiderman the movie
I thought you said game?
If it's a DVD video, then just right click the viewing window and select full screen...if you are using WinDVD, PowerDVD or WMP9.
Oh and by the way....

um, which is it, the game or the movie?Originally Posted by skip2mylou
Your original post asked about how to get a game to run in a window. Now you're asking how to change the screen playback size on a movie you copied off a friend?
Is this correct, or would you like to review the forum rules first and then answer me, correcting any misunderstanding there might be?

(go figure)Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
No, it belongs in Off Topic. The first post mentions that he has a computer game. Computer game topics go in Off Topics since they are not really hardware, and they're not non-video applicationsOriginally Posted by thayne

No, a PC game is just another computer application and his question was in bold: "how can i get it to run in a regular window?" Which is clearly for the computer forumOriginally Posted by Capmaster

If you hit the windows key during the game, it should give you the taskbar. This isn't exactly a window but it will let you access other applications while in the game. Also holding ALT+TAB will let you switch between open programs.

hey thanx everyone, i used all of your advice. i still havent been able to get my game to run in a normal window, but thats ok, i jus wanted to be able to access other programs without terminating my game application. so thanx a million to whoever posted.
