I have a magic spin 8 x dual format r/w ,cant get it to burn at 8x useing ridata 8x it came with frimware version 110e .id string is, generic dvdrw 8xmax .Will new frim ware help if so how do ido this ,It dose 4x fine ,did some ridatd 4x at 6 +. I don't no much about this so thanks for any help you can give me , i use nero 6.3.1.20.

    Try differnt media m8. Personally I use verbatim 4x -R's & burn them @ 8x.

  3. Yeah try other media like TDK. I can't get Ridata 8X media to burn at 8X on my NEC 3500 or my Optorite burners but then TY 8X media burns at 16X and Optodisc and TDK 8X all burn at 8X.

    What is the final times for your TY when you burned it at 16X? I can't imagine it be about 4 mins. If so, that is GREAT.

    That is great, gotta get me some TY. Where did ju get yours? TY means Taiyo right?

    TY is Taiyo Yuden. I bought a 50 pack from www.rima.com they are 8X DVD+R media and the Rima code is 1733-50 FYI.
