I have quite a few MPG files of all sorts of different video and audio settings. I never know whether to burn them to VCD, SVCD, or DVD. I once had a utility that would give lots of information for a particular MPG, but I can't find it.

The ultimate for my purposes would be a utility that would output this in a format that I can copy through the clipboard and use directly elsewhere if that's possible.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hello,

I think the newest version of gspot reads mpg. If not you can use powerdvd and access the configurations tab. It will list the audio/video stats.

  3. Programs like Video Wizard (womble) and MPEG Encoder (mediaconcept) and even DVD Movie Factory will provide you specs on the mpegs

DVDpatcher lets you view and alter some of them...
mpgtx (mpgtx.sf.net) also dmps meg info, but I've found it unreliable as to running length on some mpegs.
