Just trying to backup my first DVD and have run into a problem with all ripping tools I have tried. I complains that there is no ASPI layer present, then when I continue the rip, nothing is created (obviously).
I have tried SmartRipper and a couple of other tools.
Is this something peculiar to WinXP? How should I go about getting around this probelm. I had a bit of a look around the forum's and downloads section but couldn't find anything obvious.
Thanks.

Search for a program called ForceASPI.
Install it and it should be fine now.
ForceASPI is a program that will install ASPI layers even if you don't have an Adaptec product installed. -
Jeomite is correct download forceaspi Xp complains about the aspi becuase it nver comes with one you have to install it your self and forceaspi is the application for you

Thanks Jeomite. That seems to be working better. Always helps to give the machine a reboot
