    Hey guys,

Is it just me or are American DVD's a different aspect ratio to UK DVD's? I have a widescreen TV and I get a lot of imported movies (I bought imported Hellboy and Shrek 2 as in my last post) but when I play Hellboy there are black lines on the screen that even letterbox format can't completely remove. All my UK DVD's display perfectly on my TV, and I have close to 300 of them.

I noticed in ifoedit there is some aspect ratio information, can this be simply changed there to correct it for UK televisions?

    Regards,
    Kurtis Draven.
I'm no failure! I've just found 57 ways that don't work...

  2. I don't know but widescreen TV have an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 whereas most movies are around 2.25:1. So maybe your TV is displaying the movie correctly.

American DVD's should be exactly the same as UK ones, apart from the FS versions.

Hellboy has an AR of 1:85:1 so so should fit a WS TV with no Borders, and it does on mine, maybe you have a Letterbox Version instead of a Anamorphic 16:9 one, that could be causing it, especially since im guessing Hellboy and Shrek 2 are pirated copies.

Shrek2 isnt out in the US till November 5th, if you did buy it, then you have been ripped off.

    Warez the mod?

  5. Wouldn't the 720x480(NTSC) resolution have something to do with it?
