Convergent Design Unveils Multi-Function Converter
(Colorado Springs, CO) Sept 22, 2004. Convergent Design Inc announced the immediate availability of their SD-ConnectTM standalone audio / video converter, which features support for both broadcast and NLE applications. SD-Connect includes all-in-one support for component, composite, and SDI (with embedded audio) I/O as well as 4-channel digital and analog audio I/O.
Additionally, SD-Connect includes many professional broadcast features such as video proc amp, comprehensive video and audio test pattern generation, time base corrector, and frame synchronizer. SD-Connect uses state the art 12-bit A/D and D/A video converters with 3/5 line adaptive comb filters and 24-bit audio converters for superb video and audio quality. The rack-mount unit also includes a unique 128x64 graphic LCD for display of user configuration and error messages SD-Connect includes NLE support Apple Final Cut Proİ, Adobe Premierİ, Avid
Xpress Proİ and Sony Vegasİ via DV over1394.
Support for uncompressed 10- bit video and 24-bit audio over 1394 will be available in the 4th quarter (for Adobe Premiere) via a no-charge firmware update. SD-Connect have an MSRP of $1495.
