Hi, this is what happen. Everytime I rip a DVD to DivX, the avi playback get very jerky and freezy. So I tried my luck and install ffdshow as someone has recommended. Ok finally that problem is solve, as I thought this time the avi plays fine and smooth. But when I played this avi on my other older PC why it start to jerk and freeze? I sure do have all codecs installed on that PC (ffdshow included) but it won't do the trick. So to fix the problem I use AvidFreezer, DivXFreeze and some other frames error scanner but they either report 'no errors' or is no use at all. So anyone knows what the problem could be and any solution for that?
FYI my PC used to rip is a P4 nec notebook 256Ram (32mb ATI Radeon videocard) Windows XP home SP1. Older PC that has problem playing is 1000 AMD Duron 256Ram (8mb VIA videocard) Windows XP pro.
My DVD drive I think should be region 3 (south east asia?)
My original DVD is NTSC, region 2, frames 29.97and CSS protected. (this disc always jerk with programs like anydvd or css+regionfree whatsoever)
I used an ISO image I cloned using CloneDVD3 to rip the DivX.
1click DVD Ripper is used for ripping.
Codecs installed are K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.16 (everything selected when installed).
DivX codec used to encode is pro 5.21.
Output resolution is 640X480, I choose bitrate 2386kbps

Codec packs ... HUGE mistake. Always ruins everything.
ONLY install the codecs you need.
Remove ones that are NOT needed. Try DXMAN.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Your AMD Duron 1Ghz and 256MB of RAM are a problem, especially for a file at 640X480 and 2386kbps.
To test this, encode a Divx AVI at 320x240 and at 700kbs. Play it back on the Duron PC and see if it is smooth. If that works, then you need to add more RAM (512MB or more).
