  1. I've got a 32 bit wav file and it sounds fine but I can't burn it because it's not 16 bit. How can I convert it to 16 without it sounding bad? Is it possible? What program is recommended?

I would guess that Nero will convert the file before burning. In the same way it does with MP3 files and the like. Try that on an RW to see the results.

For "real" conversion, CoolEditPro - Audition have a set of parameters for this "dithering" operation. A mere truncation of the audio data may sound bad. Perhaps download a demo version of Audition and try this out would be an approach.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

Acoustica Audio Converter Pro will do it, there's a demo available.
