    Hey,

    401S owners. Lite On has a new firmware for this drive. It is dated 12/8/2003. Says that it matches more media. I downloaded it but haven't
    flashed my drive yet.

    I downloaded and flash my 411S and it's made a world of difference, at first i thought there was something wrong with my software but now I can't make a coaster.

    You can change your 401s to an 811s. Here is the web site that explains the procedure. It is a FAQ.

    I personally have not tried it on my 401s so I don't know if it works or not. I guess I am a little chicken to try it. But, people say that it is the best one.
