  1. I been dumping vobs to the hard drive then renaming them something.mpg and they play fine. I have some issues with loading the 1.4 meg files in Ulead DVD MovieFactory , seems to load the system down and makes it hard to cut and edit files. If people could share any guides or help on how they work with files from there standalone DVD recorders would be great.

    My system is a P4 3 GHz
    512megs of ram

    buick,

    Check out this guide:

    http://www.dvdguideuk.dsl.pipex.com/dvdguide/editing1/editing1.htm

Works great for me with VOBs from my DR-M10.

    Good luck,

    Moonstomp.

  3. Thanks Moonstomp I have been trying to use that guide and it is the best I found so far. I havent been using DVDDecrypter since they offered to dump the vobs and just rename them and that works good. My other issues as I said above is working with the big files in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0 and I have had some issues with Womble MPEG2VCR chrashing when I'm cutting out parts I dont want but not all the time. So I was trying to edit out parts in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0. Do you have the problems that I am? Thanks

    Hi buick,

I haven't had the problems you encountered.

I don't Cut / Edit in MovieFactory, but I imagine that this would be slow. Using MpegVCr I have no problems (never crashes). Which version of MpegVCR are you using (??) as the more recent ones are more stable with files from Standalone Recorders like the JVC Dr-M10. Check out the guide link from Lord Smurf above.

Another FREE Mpeg editor is Mpeg2Schnitt - maybe give that a try.

    Bon Chance !!

  5. I think my version is kinda old, really didnt use it much till I seen this guide. I will give that Mpeg2Schnitt a try also. The file will load in Unlead okay but when trying to move the curser to set chapters it will really hangs up on these bigger files but I will work with it more, thanks again for all the help to all.
