I finally figured how to convert MKV to MPG/AVI/or w/e with TMPGEnc . THe sound is in sync so thats a good thing. but, my subtitles are not there anymore. what program should I use so that when I convert it to AVI or whateever the subs are still there?

I suggest making an AVI with the subtitles hardcoded to it before running it in TMPGEnc if that's what you're making. You should disassemble it using VDubMOD first. You should also extract the subtitle file. Then assemble it all together by using Virtualdub. After you get the AVI, open it in Virtualdub again and install Vobsub to get the Textsub filter. In Vdub, Video, Filters, Add, TextSub, Ok. Open, select your SSA subtitle file, check no automatic word-wrapping. Then check to see how your video is with the subs by clicking on the SECOND play button. Then go to Video, Full Processing Mode, and save as AVI. Then input that into TMPGEnc.
