  1. I used DVD Shrink to make a compilation of different scenes of movies I own for demoing the home theater. I just wanted to make it more convenient for myself, instead of taking this disc out, putting this one in, etc. So, I have one big ISO file with the different scenes being considered Titles by my DVD player.

Currently, when I put the DVD in my player, it just runs through the disc. What I would like to do is make a DVD with the same clips, but have menus on it. Partly for an easier way to jump to a particular scene, group the scenes in different categories i.e.: subwoofer demos, great visuals, kid friendly, etc., and partly for the "coolness" factor. What would be the best program to use to accomplish this? I have read a lot of good things about DVD-Lab, would this do what I want? I was browsing through one of the guides and it was talking about converting .VOB files to .AVI files or something like that for the menus? I wasn't sure what it was talking about. I know I'll learn all of that when I actually sit down and concentrate on the guides and with help from this site. Am I really going to have to convert things just to make a DVD with menus?

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone,
    Geo

P.S. I am assuming what I am doing is not illegal as I am making the disc for myself only and from my own material that I purchased.

  2. There is a huge learning curve with DVD LAb, but yes, it would do what you want. You can also try TMPGEnc DVD Author. It is by far more user friendly and I also think that DVD Lab would be overkill for what you are trying to do. GL!
