  1. i'm not sure if this has been asked b4, if it has then i am sorry. but can anyone please direct me to where i can download the drivers for the Pioneer dvr-108 dvd burner? everything seems to work ok except for the 2x media, i can burn to it but only writes at 1x speed.

also the Dual Layered blank disc that came with the drive does not work. i think it's because i don't have the drivers for it. i get an error message that says please insert a compatible disc from nero.

i have installed the drive into an external firewire case since all of my drive bays are occupied.

MY PC is running windows ME...

    thanks for any advice.

Dvd or cd burner do not come with drivers, windows has native drivers already that go with any drive installed, what you need is firmware update to burn more types of dvd.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

I would have thought that the shipped firmware with the 108 should entitle you to burn quicker than 1X - maybe you need to get better and higher-speed-rated media.
    If in doubt, Google it.

check to see that DMA is enabled. here's a guide on how to enable DMA mode. it's for windows 98, windows me and xp.

EDIT: I didn't read your original post correctly. If your 108 is in a external enclosure and it's via USB that is why you're burning 1x speed. Try hooking it up via FIREWIRE. USB has compatibility issues with DVD BURNERS. make sure the drive is in DMA mode.

  13. Are you sure the version of Nero you are using supports DL? I don't remember which version does, but that sounds like a good possbility.
