  1. I noticed that when you run the two together DVDshrink doesn't write the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders like it does if you're just writing to the hard drive. Is there a way to get DVDshrink to write the folders to the drive prior to the burn with Nero Express?

Also I thought that the disc must have at least the VIDEO_TS folder to play on stand alone players but the discs I have burned without the folders work just fine on all my players.

The folder structure is for older players and newer ones usually don't need them.

Why don't you just use DVD Shrink to copy the folders to your hard drive (check create video_ts folders) and then burn those folders using Nero Express in DVD file mode? If you are running low on space, then you can't backup DVDs anyway.

I think you'll find that this happens if you have the "Burn with Nero" option selected. DVDShrink does create these folders but in a temporary directory, which it then feeds into Nero. If you have it set up this way there is no need for the files to stay on your Hard Drive once it is done, so it deletes them after a successful burn. As mentioned, if you wish to keep the folders on your hard drive, simply output to your hard drive ("Hard disk folders" I think it's called) and load into Nero manually as 888888 mentioned.

I assume your statement to mean that when you use My Computer or Windows Explorer to view a burnt disc, there is no AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS folders, just the VOBs, BUPs and IFOs in the root ? If so, it could be that your DVD players can play straight MPEG-2.
    If in doubt, Google it.
