I just bought a R200 printer and having a hard time centering the images. I tried using the cd printing program that came with the printer. Does anyone use other graphic programs like PSP or Photoshop to edit the pictures you want printed on the discs? Anyone have a tutorial or some advice on how to center the images so it can be printed ok. I did one but the image was a bit off. Some of the edges did not print out. I would appreciate any help or comments. Thanks in advance!

I don't use the Epson cd/dvd printing software with my R200. Instead I use Discus (www.magicmouse.com), and it has a boatload of nice options. One of the options I love is it allows you to 'nudge' the printed image to be dead-on center. You can move it .1mm at a time. Its cheap and works great.

  3. A couple of weeks back, someone posted a URL here for a PSD template. I seem to recall it was for the 300, but is probably exactly the same. If you do a forum search for R300, photoshop and template, I expect you'll come up trumps.

    Good luck !

  4. Have you calibrated the printer ?As good a way as any is to use one of the clear disks you get in a spindle of disks. In the epson print cd program create 2 circles on just outside the inner dia and one just inside the outer dia then print. Use the "adjust print position" to move the circles so they are centered on the disk. The great thing is with the clear disks the ink just wipes of each time.

I'll try that out. I was getting so frustrated I was gonna say hell with it & return the R200 printer to Sam's club.

  6. R200 does a great job once you get the hang of it!

One of the icons to the left side in the program is to set your printable area sizes. May vary by disk brands, to begin with my Riteks were having a fine white ring inner and outer edges. Once I found how to set the size I never have centering/edge problems now.

Basically I just do the art in whatever program I want then cut and paist into the epson program or save the file and open it. Easy to drag it around or resize in the epson program before printing, and the program takes care of the printable area for you so you don't really have to worry about it being perfectly centered. If it hangs over the edge a bit like a Square with corners would, the progam cuts it off nice and round

For being a pretty simple program I find it very useful at times. And as for the printer, well I would like it to print faster but it does a great job and is low cost and easy to use. So far not having any problems here with mine

Using the Epson software, select the image you want and size it, then you can nudge it with the arrow keys. My discs come out absolutely beautiful with this printer. For $83 at Newegg, it's an awesome bargain!
